Frequently asked questions

Why do I see no data, or only some of it?
Health Export Pro only sees data you granted read access to. In the Health app, go to Profile → Apps → Health Export Pro and check that every category you need is turned on. Apple doesn't tell apps when access was denied, so missing categories simply appear empty.
How do I connect Claude, Cursor or another AI tool?
Start the MCP server on the Server screen. The app shows its address (for example http://192.168.1.23:9000/mcp) and copy-paste configurations for popular clients. Your iPhone and computer must be on the same network, and the iPhone server only runs while the app is in the foreground. For an always-on server, use the Mac app.
What is the Mac app for?
HealthKit doesn't exist on the Mac. With “Sync to Mac”, the iPhone app writes your data to your own iCloud Drive; the Mac app reads it there and serves it over MCP, including stdio for desktop AI apps. The Mac app is included when you buy the iPhone app (universal purchase).
Why don't automations run exactly on schedule?
iOS decides when apps may run in the background, and Health data can only be read while the device is unlocked. Automations therefore run at roughly the interval you chose. Every run appears in the activity log, and you can start an automation manually or from a widget at any time.
Does the app send my data to dataWorks?
No. Health data is read on your device and only goes to destinations you set up yourself. The app has no account and no analytics or advertising SDKs, and we run no server that receives your data.
Is Health Export Pro a medical device?
No. The app exports and displays data from Apple Health. It does not diagnose anything and does not replace a doctor.
