Frequently asked questions
- Which headbands are supported?
- The Muse S Athena (model MS-03). Older Muse models are in progress. Without a headband you can try every screen with the built-in simulated headband: tap "Simulated headband" at the bottom of the Connect screen.
- The headband isn't found. What can I do?
- Fully close the official Muse app (including in the background): a headband talks to one app at a time. Check that Bluetooth is on and that Mind Analyzer is allowed to use it in Settings, then turn the headband off and on again.
- Why is the sensor contact poor?
- The electrodes on the forehead and behind the ears need direct skin contact. Move hair aside, tighten the band a little and slightly moisten the sensors if your skin is dry. Hover or tap a sensor in the status line to see details on the signal quality.
- Where do I find my recordings?
- On iPhone and iPad in the Files app under "On My iPhone/iPad › Mind Analyzer", on the Mac in Documents › MindAnalyzer. Each meditation has its own folder there and can be shared as a zip from the app.
- Can I open the data in other tools?
- Yes. The CSV files use the widely used Muse community format (band powers in Bels, markers as event rows) and open in spreadsheets, Python or existing EEG tools.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. Mind Analyzer has no network access, no account and no analytics. Data leaves your device only when you share or export it yourself.
- Is Mind Analyzer a medical device?
- No. Mind Analyzer is a general wellness and research tool and does not replace a medical examination. It is not intended to diagnose or treat any disease.
